Moto Morini at EICMA 2026: 90 years of history looking to the future

MOTO MORINI SHOWS UP AT EICMA WITH NEW MODELS AND AN EXPANDING LINEUP.

The brand is unveils the new Camel and Coguaro models in a world premiere, announces a special anniversary edition of the X-Cape 1200 and a new edition of the X-Cape 700, while reaffirming the importance of Italian design and development.

Moto Morini is using EICMA 2026 as an opportunity to showcase its evolution, present new projects, and preview the journey that will lead the brand towards a historic milestone: the 90th anniversary of its foundation, to be celebrated in 2027.

During the press conference, at which the Coguaro and Camel models, as well as the new versions of the X-Cape family, were unveiled, General Manager Alberto Monni outlined the company’s strategic vision, highlighting not only its products but also its path of international growth strategy, which aims to consolidate the brand’s identity by celebrating its historical heritage and developing new opportunities in different segments and markets.

“Ninety years of history represent a legacy of which we are deeply proud, but also a responsibility. Our history is built on people, ideas, expertise and motorcycles that have helped shape Moto Morini’s identity. And it is with this heritage that we step into the future: with a vision that brings together tradition and innovation, reaffirming our commitment to turning our legacy into new opportunities for growth,” said Alberto Monni, General Manager of Moto Morini.

Camel: a new player in the adventure segment

The Moto Morini Camel makes its world debut, marking the return of an iconic name in the brand’s history and opening a new chapter in the development of the adventure lineup. The brand thus enters the mid-displacement segment with a 21-inch wheel, bringing with it that spirit of exploration that the name Camel has represented for a generation of motorcyclists.

The reference to the Camel of the 1980s is a way of reconnecting with one of the brand’s most recognisable models, originally designed to venture beyond paved roads and which also made its way onto the routes of the Paris-Dakar Route.

The Camel is equipped with a 670 cc front-mounted parallel-twin engine, developed by Moto Morini engineers, capable of delivering 82 hp. This is a particularly significant milestone for the brand, as it is the first front-mounted parallel-twin engine developed in-house.

The project thus combines a distinct focus on adventure with a new milestone in the company’s technical evolution, with contributions from the Design Center and Research and Development in defining a recognizable identity that is consistent with Moto Morini’s DNA.

Coguaro: a historic name with new prospects

Among the new models unveiled at EICMA, the new Moto Morini Coguaro stands out, reinterpreting a historic name from the brand to meet the needs of today’s motorcyclists.

The original Coguaro, produced from the late 1980s to the early 1990s in 350- and 500-cc versions, was known for its versatility, comfort, and road-going capabilities. These characteristics, in some respects, foreshadowed the philosophy of modern crossovers.

The new Coguaro builds on this approach, focusing on greater accessibility for riding on unpaved surfaces without sacrificing practicality for everyday use on the road. The 21-inch front wheel underscores the project’s exploratory nature, designed to introduce even riders who aren’t necessarily looking for a specialized off-road bike to the off-road experience.

The lineup envolves: new versions of the X-Cape 700 and X-Cape 1200

Alongside the two world premieres, Moto Morini reaffirms its commitment to evolving its existing lineup by introducing two new

models designed to expand the X-Cape family’s offerings in preparation for 2027.

The X-Cape 700 debuts in a new variant, the Red Edition, featuring red anodized wheels and exclusive graphics in Matte Gray. Inspired in part by the positive reception this color scheme received on the previous X-Cape 650, the new configuration will be available starting in February 2027.

There’s also news for the X-Cape 1200, the current flagship model of the lineup, which debuts in an Anniversary edition. This model stands out for its special livery and details: the anniversary logo on the side fairings, the two-tone white and red color scheme that enhances the design’s dynamism, gold-colored wheels, and a full range of optional equipment – including a set of three panniers, an oversized windshield, a protective bumper, and a dedicated aluminum skid plate – all designed to reinforce its globetrotter character.

The two proposals chart the path toward 2027 through a stylistic refresh that highlights key models in the brand’s lineup, expanding the range of choices available.

The Moto Morini lineup also continues to showcase its diversity through model families and individual models designed for different riding experiences: from the adventure-oriented Kanguro and AlltrHike to the custom-inspired Calibro, all the way to the Corsaro family and the historic 3½ Sport, which embodies the connection between heritage and modernity.

An evolving identity: the new 90th anniversary logo

The journey towards 2027 is also taking shape through the unveiling of the commemorative logo, designed and created by the manufacturer’s Italy-based Design Center. The graphic design revisits and reinterprets the two “M”s, evoking the brand’s roots through a contemporary, minimalist and instantly recognisable visual language.

This choice reflects the desire to keep the connection with the brand’s history alive, translating it into an identity capable of accompanying its next stages of development.

For more information and details on the new models, Moto Morini looks forward to seeing you at EICMA 2026, Booth E54 – Hall 18.
